Self Sealing Technology

PE porous sintered filter has been used in countless applications. According to different application characteristics, the filter can be designed for different functions, such as ventilation and hydrophillic, ventilation and hydrophobic, air proof and hydrophobic, which shows that the filter is with a high degree of customization. However, the PE porous sintered filter with self-sealing technology is a typical example, which is also called "Anti-overflow filter" or "Self sealing filter when contacting water" in the market.

Self sealing Filter is made through making the polymer elstomers such as CMC, CMS (Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Carboxymethyl Starch Sodium) embedded into the pore structure of PE sintering filter. In the dry condition, the polymeric elastomer will not inflate and its particle size is much smaller than PE raw material particle size. So, the filter element inner pore channel is with high ventilation property. However, after contacting with water, the polymer elastomer rapidly expands, blocking the pore structure. Then the airway is closed and the water solution cannot pass.

Cobetter’s advanced sealing technology ensures that the filter can complete self-sealing within a very short time after contacting with aqueous solution, and the filter also can withstand 50-120kPa water pressure.
